At Ad-Shield, we understand the importance of privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how Ad-Shield collects, shares, and uses your Personal Information, as well as what you can do about the collection, correction, and/or deletion of said information. This policy applies to information collected via our website, adblock recovery services, and otherwise while operating Ad-Shield’s business.

1. About Ad-Shield

Ad-Shield provides ad-tech solutions for the ad-blocked web. Web browser settings or downloadable software can enable consumers to block online advertising. This process is known as ad blocking. If a consumer sets their preferences to block general advertising without disabling ad serving, Ad-Shield can be used to enable advertising.

2. Information We Collect

Ad-Shield may collect your data under the following circumstances:

1. Voluntarily providing Personal Information to ad-shield.io.

While visiting our website, you may encounter scenarios in which we ask for your Personal Information. Examples include:

  1. Your contact information when submitting inquiries to Ad-Shield
  2. Your contact information when subscribing to Ad-Shield’s marketing communications
  3. Your information when applying for an open position to work at Ad-Shield
  4. Your email address for logging into our Dashboard (https://publisher.ad-shield.io)

When we request your Personal Information, we will make our purpose clear and provide you with the option to opt out of receiving future marketing messages.

2. Voluntarily providing Personal Information as our customer

We may request your Personal Information for customer business operations, including but not limited to customer support and account management. Examples include:

  • Account maintenance
  • Billing
  • Marketing information for current and potential customers
  • General inquiries

3. Personal Information of end users processed on behalf of our customers

By implementing Ad-Shield’s recovery services on your (Ad-Shield’s customer) web properties, Ad-Shield is able to display advertisements to your end users in accordance with their blocking preferences. During this procedure, the Personal Information of your end users is processed by Ad-Shield. The processed information includes:

  • IP address
  • User-Agent
  • Unique device identification

When processing the Personal Information of end users on behalf of our customers, Ad-Shield acts as the "data processor," and the customer is the "data controller."

3. Retention Period of Personal Information

Unless otherwise specified, Ad-Shield retains Personal Information for the duration of an active relationship with our customer, or until its deletion following a request from the data’s individual subject.

Should there be no legitimate business necessity to process your Personal Information, we will either delete it within the maximum storage time limit (currently 12 months from the final interaction with a data subject) or anonymize it.

4. Sharing of Personal Information

During our business operations, Ad-Shield may share Personal Information with authorized employees, affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and/or other third parties.

Personal Information may be disclosed to Ad-Shield’s data-processing third-party service providers and partners. The purpose(s) for disclosure include improving our Website’s functionality, enhancing our Website’s security, and/or for circumstances outlined in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy.  The third-party services and partners include:

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Cloudflare
  • Salesforce

Personal Information may be disclosed to third parties if we believe we are reasonably obligated to do so by law, and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual prohibited activities, including but not limited to fraud and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person.

Personal Information, including any personally identifiable data, may be transferred to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets, bankruptcy, debt refinancing, or other corporate change. In these events, Ad-Shield will work towards ensuring that the data will continue to be maintained as stated in this Privacy Statement.

This includes (i) as a matter of applicable law or regulation, (ii) to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights, or (iii) to protect your vital interests or those of any other person.

As a provision, the buyer will be informed that your Personal Information may only be used according to the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

This information may be used by Ad-Shield and others for various purposes such as but not limited to analyzing and tracking data, determining the popularity of certain content, and better understanding online activity.

Data collected by Ad-Shield may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where Ad-Shield or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or service providers maintain facilities. If you are located in the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that we may transfer information, including Personal Information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. You can review, edit, or delete your personal information maintained by Ad-Shield by logging into your account and updating your password and billing information. You may also contact us directly with your request at legal@ad-shield.io, which we will respond to within 30 days.
